Cloud Interop a Reality Today

Amid those resisting the new era of cloud-based computing, the concern about “cloud lock-in” abounds.  This is the notion that once you select a platform, you’ll be locked in and unable to interoperate with other platforms.

Not only is interoperability with on-premise services wired into the DNA of the Windows Azure Platform, I was fortunate enough to see Simon Guest deliver a stunning demonstration of cloud interoperability using PHP on Azure, Java on Google, and ASP.NET on Amazon to run a single, distributed application.

It’s worth a few minutes to review the blog entry or check out the screencast of his demo.
